City of Prattville Honors Past County Commissioners at Independence Day Celebration

      The City of Prattville has announced that this year’s 4th of July Parade theme is “Happy Birthday America/Autauga County”. In honor of Autauga County turning 200 years old this year, the Prattville Independence Day Celebration Committee is honoring all current and past Autauga County Commissioners as Grand Marshals at the Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Event, on Wednesday, July 4th. All County Commissioners wishing to take part in the Prattville Independence Day events need to make reservations by June 22, 2018. Please contact the City of Prattville Special Events Office at (334) 595-0851 to RSVP.
      The 4th of July parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4th. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Autauga County Courthouse and will end at Stanley-Jensen Stadium. The community is encourage to participate in this free parade.
      Other events included will be the annual “Cardboard Boat Races”, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, at the city pool, and the “Lion’s Club Bar-B-Q and Camp Stew Sale,” held at Pratt Park at 10:00 a.m. The annual fireworks presentation will be held at Stanley Jensen stadium. Gates open at 6pm with a concert by the band “Creativity”. Fireworks begin at dark. The admission to this spectacular event is FREE and the public is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. NO pets, candles or bottles are allowed.
