BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES

The City of Prattville is always looking for dedicated residents who are willing to share their expertise and time to serve on various boards, commissions, or committees. Service commitments vary by board, but many terms are multi-year appointments. Some boards meet on a monthly basis; others meet on an as-called basis. For most City boards, applicants must reside within the city limits of Prattville.

Applying for Boards, Commissions, or Committees:

Appointments to the City’s boards, commissions, and committees occur throughout the year based upon terms and expiration dates as provided by State Code, City Ordinances, or By-Laws. Some board, commission or committee members are appointed by the Mayor; others are appointed by the City Council. In filling a vacant or expired term, the Mayor or City Council may consider reappointment of an individual to an additional term or appointment of an applicant to the position.

Applications are accepted throughout the year by the City Clerk’s Office and will be maintained on file for consideration when appointments are due.
