DRESS CODE & CONDUCT

The dress code and conduct for municipal court varies by jurisdiction, but generally, it is important to dress, and act in a professional manner. Here are some general guidelines to consider:

 

Dress Code:

  • Dress in a professional and conservative manner. 
  • Avoid wearing casual clothing, such as shorts, t-shirts, or flip-flops.
  • Avoid wearing clothing with offensive slogans or graphics.

 

 

Conduct:

  • Be respectful to everyone in the courtroom, including the judge, court staff, and other participants in the proceedings.
  • Cell phones are not allowed in the courtroom. Please leave it in the car before coming in.
  • Follow the instructions of the judge and court staff.
  • Speak clearly and respectfully when addressing the judge or court staff.
  • No food, drinks, or chewing gum.
  • Do not bring weapons or other dangerous items into the courtroom.

 

It is important to remember that the court is a formal setting, and you should treat it as such.
