LORA LEE BOONE

Councilor President | District 7

Lora Lee Boone was elected to the Prattville City Council in 2012. She and her husband, John, a real estate appraiser, grew up in Prattville where they met as childhood neighbors. They have two sons, Matthew and Andrew, who attended Autauga County public schools. Lora Lee graduated from Prattville High School and earned a B. A. in Communication with a Spanish minor at Auburn University at Montgomery. She capitalizes on this education by teaching high school Spanish at Prattville Christian Academy. 

Lora Lee and her family attend First Baptist Church where she serves in the choir and has been active in ministries including Mixtec Ministry, Finance Committee, VBS, Nursery, and Decorating Committee. After her Christian faith, civic volunteerism defines Boone's life. She is a sustaining member of the Prattville Service League, six-year president of the Association of Parents and Teachers in Prattville schools, a former member of the Tourism Committee, the Autauga People Against a Littered State, Prattville Fireworks Committee, and Prattville Ladies Golf Association. 

She has also volunteered with United Way, Prattville Autauga Humane Society, Prattville Library Summer Reading Program, and the Family Support Center. During her tenure on the council, Boone has served as chair of the Parks and Rec Committee, Chair of the Fire Committee, Chair of the Finance Committee, member of Urban Management and Vehicle Maintenance Committees, Autauga County 911 Board, President Pro Tempore of the Council and currently as Council President.
