WADE NEWMAN

City Councilor | District 1

Wade Newman was elected to the Prattville City Council in 2025. A proud Prattville native and 1983 graduate of Prattville High School, Wade has dedicated his life to service, leadership, and strengthening the community he calls home.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 20 years and retired at the rank of Sergeant First Class. Ranger- and Drill Sergeant-qualified, he held leadership positions including Infantry Platoon Sergeant, Long Range Surveillance Team Leader, and Air Assault School Instructor. His military service instilled in him the values of discipline, accountability, and teamwork—principles that continue to guide his public service today.

Following his military career, Wade transitioned into the private sector, leading global resiliency, cybersecurity, and crisis-management operations for Fortune 500 companies. His work focused on preparedness, planning, and organizational continuity—skills he now applies to city leadership and community growth.

Since returning home to Prattville in 2022 with his wife, Ann, Wade has been actively involved in civic and community initiatives. He serves on the E-911 Emergency Communications Board, the Industrial Development Board, the Metropolitan Planning Organization Citizens Advisory Committee, the Alabama Department of Youth Services Advisory Board – Autauga Campus, and the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs and Governmental Affairs Committees.

Wade and Ann are proud to raise their family in Prattville and remain committed to serving the people of District 1 with integrity, transparency, and a deep respect for the city’s future.
