ENGINEERING

Keeping our infrastructure up and running in a cost-effective manner.

Our engineering department provides technical assistance to the mayor, city council members, and Prattville’s planning department to uphold and improve our quality of life. In addition to reviewing new subdivision developments and providing infrastructure inspections, they also review engineering plans prepared by consultants for roadway, drainage, sanitary sewer improvements, and other critical infrastructure.

PAVING & SIDEWALKS

Based on the condition of individual streets, the amount of traffic and other related factors, the Engineering and Street Departments make a final determination of which streets should be included in the paving project. Streets that are in the worst condition are considered first for resurfacing. This list is presented to the Mayor and City Council for review. Specifications are drafted and bids are then let for the project.
