CITY CEMETERIES
The City of Prattville maintains the following cemeteries:
Chapman Cemetery - 450 Water Street
Oak Hill Cemetery - 310 Wetumpka Street
Interments and Memorial Placements
To inter a body or have a monument or memorial placed in either city-owned cemetery, deed holders or the funeral homes they are utilizing, must contact the city’s Cemetery Administrator. Responsible parties must complete the Interment Location Form or Marker Location Form and submit the completed form to cemetery@prattvilleal.gov as soon as is practical. Burial information must be verified, markers must be approved, and plots must be marked by city employees before any interment or placement occurs. (Reference: City of Prattville Code of Ordinances Section 14-1)
Grave Markings
Once information is verified and/or markers are approved, the proper cemetery plot will be marked by city personnel. Marking fees are $100, and fees for burials and grave markers must be paid prior to marking. Lots will be marked by flags and spray paint where possible (Reference: City of Prattville Code of Ordinances Section 14-5).
