Brisk cold weather is here and steaming hot soup is just what you need to chase Old Man Winter away. The Prattauga Art Guild is planning its annual Art with a Heart fundraising event to assist with the needs of our community. This tasty event will feature a Soup Cook-Off with teams and individuals competing for the Golden Bowl Award while raising money to support the Autauga Interfaith Care Center food bank. Local artisans have donated handmade bowls and local restaurants are donating soup.

A donation of non-perishable food items or a small monetary donation to the AICC gains you admission to this soup soiree and the chance to taste the temptations of the best cooks in the area with their favorite soups.

The event will be held on March 7th from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Prattville Creative Arts Center on Chestnut Street in Downtown Prattville. For a donation of $10 or $15 to the event, you will not only enjoy hot soup on a cool March afternoon, but will be able to take home an original work of art by one of our many participating members of the Prattauga Art Guild.

The Gallery at the Prattville Creative Arts Center will feature an exhibit of works by local artists, representing a variety of artistic styles, along with the featured artists Onicas Gaddis of Daytona and photographer Lauren Wade of Atlanta.

The Gallery is located at the Prattville Creative Arts Center at 342 Chestnut Street in historic Downtown Prattville and is a short walk from the quaint shops of Downtown Prattville. It is also adjacent to the beautiful Autauga Creek Walk and Art Gardens. For more information about the Soup Cook-Off and how you can participate, contact the Prattville Special Events Office at 334/595-0854.
