In recognition of their selfless acts of heroism, dedication, and sacrifice to the safety, health and well being of our nation, Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. has declared November 6th-12th to be Military Appreciation Week.

All River Region mayors will attend a ceremony at Maxwell Air Force Base on Monday, November 7th to sign a joint proclamation for this week.

The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce and its Military Committee are supporting a variety of events and area merchants are offering specials and discounts. A list of events and specific merchant discounts are available on their website,

“We are very blessed to have so many military members as residents in the City of Prattville,” said Mayor Bill Gillespie. “These military service men and women are much more than protectors of our freedoms. They contribute significantly to our quality of life and the economic health of our community. It is my honor to join my peers in honoring our local active duty military members, retirees, reserve forces, National Guard forces, and their families, not only during this week, but every day of the year.”

The City of Prattville has hung a banner in front of City Hall in honor of this event and we encourage all residents of Prattville to join us in thanking our military for their service and contribution in our lives and community.
