The City of Prattville is pleased to announce that Mac Gipson has been named Grand Marshal of its 10th Annual Mardi Gras Parade. The theme of this year's parade is 10 Years Rolling With the Good Times and Mac has participated since the very first parade. Gipson is well known in Prattville for his service as the former State Legislator representing Autauga and Elmore Counties where he served on the Travel and Tourism and Education Appropriations committees. He currently serves as the Administrator of the Alabama Beverage Control Board. He serves on the Board of the Prattville YMCA and is past President of the Prattville Chamber of Commerce. Mac Gipson is a leader and exhibits the true spirit of Prattville.

The Mardi Gras Parade will be held on Saturday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m. It will begin at Stanley-Jensen Stadium, go down Doster and take a right on Northington to Main Street. The parade will go through Downtown Prattville to Court Street and then left on 4th Street, ending at Gin Shop Hill Road.

Local vendors will be selling beverages and food, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Partners in Pediatrics parking lot, located next to BankTrust in Downtown Prattville. A children's fun area will open at 11:00 a.m. on Court Street just past the Fountain with inflatables and more. The 3rd Annual Prattville Service League Chili Cook-Off will open to the public at 11:30 a.m. in the City Hall Annex Parking Lot.

There is still time to register to be a part of the parade. We welcome organizations, teams, families and individuals with floats, vintage cars, trucks and bicycles. Families can walk together, ride bikes, or pull little red wagons. Festive floats and lots of beads, candy, and MoonPies will make this parade the event of Mardi Gras season!

For a parade application or for more information, contact the Special Events Office at 334/595-0854 or visit the event page on this website.
