The Prattauga Art Guild will hold its Annual Youth Art Show in May with an Awards Reception on Saturday, May 2, in conjunction with Prattville City Fest. Local students in grades K-12 are invited to be a part of this exhibit and to submit artwork that they have created in art class, at home, at church, etc.

This exhibit includes six categories in four grade divisions. Artwork includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and printmaking. Artwork can be submitted on Friday, April 24, from 3-6pm or Saturday, April 25, from 10am-2pm at the Prattville Creative Arts Center on Chestnut Street behind City Hall/Police Station.

“This will be our 10th Annual Youth Art Show and we are very pleased to have been encouraging the creativity of our youth for so many years. It is through exhibits like this one that we are able to show children firsthand the importance of art in a community,” said Prattauga Art Guild President, Peggy Raines.

The students will receive their awards on stage again this year as part of the Prattville City Fest events. “This is an exciting part of the show for the children, as well as for the Art Guild and the City to be able to showcase our young and talented participants at this event. As in previous years, the awards will be presented by Mayor Gillespie,” said Cultural Arts and Special Events Coordinator, Barbara Simpson.
