A Main Street Christmas Event Planned in Prattville
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 13, 2016
The City of Prattville and the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to enjoy the magic of downtown this Christmas season and “Love What’s Local.” The public is invited to Main Street on Monday, December 19, 6-8:00 p.m. to shop, eat and enjoy all that Prattville has to offer. Santa will be on site taking last minute wish lists from boys and girls, Charles Dickens will read A Christmas Carol on the Covered Bridge of Lights, and Carolers will sing Christmas favorites. This event is scheduled for our community to come together and enjoy the spirit of the season and shoppers can take advantage of the extended holiday shopping hours at many of the downtown merchants.
The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce will be serving FREE hot cocoa and cookies at the corner of Bridge Street and Main Street. And, to highlight the Chamber’s “Love What’s Local” campaign, there will be a drawing for a “Love What’s Local” Christmas basket filled with items showcasing the Prattville-Autauga community and local downtown merchants. To register for the drawing, stop by the Chamber’s table and for every receipt you collect from participating downtown merchants between 6-8:00 p.m., you will receive one entry into the drawing, one receipt per business. The more merchants you support with a purchase during this event, the more entries you will receive. So, come out and “Love What’s Local”!
In addition, the City of Prattville will close the Bridge Street Bridge at Maple and Main Streets from 7-10:00 p.m. each evening through New Year’s Day. We hope that everyone will take an opportunity to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations in Historic Downtown Prattville.
