District 3 - Denise B. Brown
Denise was appointed to fill a vacancy on the City Council in February 2012. She was elected to fill the seat in the 2012 election. Following the 2016 election and swearing in, Denise was selected by her peers to serve as Council President Pro Tempore.
Originally from Tuscaloosa, Denise and her husband, Scott, chose Prattville as their home shortly after their marriage in 1988. The couple has two children: Their daughter, Bailey, is a graduate of Troy University. She is a resident of Prattville but works in Birmingham as a nurse. Their son, Griffin lives in Troy where he also attends Troy University. He is working towards a degree in Information Systems.
Denise graduated from West End Christian School in Tuscaloosa. She earned a business degree from the University of Alabama in Marketing with a concentration in Finance. Following college, she began her career in banking. She currently serves as the Ministry Director for the Autauga Interfaith Care Center where she has been employed since 2006.
Denise's family are members at St. Mark's Espicopal Church. There, Denise has served as a member of the Vestry and as a Sunday School teacher.
Within the community, Denise has served on the Advisory Board of the Autauga Area Community Foundation and as a member of the Prattville Service League, as well as a number of social organizations.
