BROADWAY BOUND DANCE WORKSHOP

This 3-hour Broadway Dance Workshop is a high-energy experience for all levels, from beginners to seasoned dancers. Dive into the world of musical theater and explore the diverse styles and techniques that bring Broadway to life.
Led by: Grayson Elijah whose passion for dance has driven her education and career. She has been dancing for 21 years and has trained in all styles including ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and modern. Grayson grew up dancing at Centre for Performing Arts in Prattville, AL (now known as Evolve Studio for the Arts).She recently graduated from Troy University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Prior to that, she earned her Associate in Social Science from Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama. While at Southern Union, she served as President of the Dance Program from 2019 to 2021, was a member of the GEO's Club and Student Government Association as the Dance Representative. She was also a recipient of the Excellence in Dance Award. She currently serves as an adjunct dance instructor at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, AL. Her newest endeavor includes opening Studio 1 Eleven in Wetumpka, a dedicated dance studio designed to nurture and elevate the talent within the community. Her goal is to provide a space where dancers of all levels can further develop their skills, explore new styles, and cultivate their passion for dance. She is eager to create a supportive and inspiring environment where all children can thrive and reach their full potential. She believe’s in fostering a positive and supportive environment where everyone can grow and thrive.
What to Expect:
• Warm-up & Conditioning: Get your body ready with Broadway-focused exercises.
• Broadway Dance Styles Exploration: Learn various iconic styles, including character work and choreography directly inspired by Broadway musicals.
• Performance & Storytelling: Multiple "showtime" run-throughs to build confidence and refine your performance.
• Q&A and Cool-down: Wind down with a cool-down and an open Q&A session with Grayson Elijah, where you can ask about dance careers, Broadway shows, or specific techniques.
