The City of Prattville is excited to honor June Weedon Dorough as Grand Marshal for the 2024 Independence Day Celebration. June is the Assistant Branch Director and Ability Programs Director at the Prattville Bradford Branch YMCA. She has been in the Field of Dreams and Ability Programs for 7 years. She is a member of the 2024 Leadership Autauga Class. has served on the board of the ARC and is a current member of the Prattville Civitan Club.
The Independence Day Celebration will begin with the annual 4th of July Parade at 9:00 a.m. and there will be an entire day of fun, barbeque, music, and fireworks.
This year’s theme is “Party in the USA.”
The Lions Club will have their annual Barbecue and Camp Stew fundraiser at Pratt Park from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There will be a patriotic program, barbeque, arts and crafts, and live music.
The Annual Cardboard Boat Races will make a big splash as families and organizations create their cardboard boats and the races will begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be a Pool Party from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and the Splash Pad will be open for more family fun all day.
The grand finale of the day will be a magnificent fireworks display launched at dark near the Clock Tower off Highway 82 at Legends Circle.
