Way Off Broadway Theatre Announces Auditions for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
PRATTVILLE, Ala. — Way Off Broadway Theatre (WOBT), a program of the City of Prattville Parks and Recreation Department, invites actors of all experience levels to audition for its upcoming production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, dramatized by Joseph Robinette from the beloved novel by C.S. Lewis.
Auditions will be held:
- Sunday, September 13, at 6:00 p.m.
- Monday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, and no prepared monologue is required.
Directed by Ashlee Lassiter Davis, the production features more than 20 roles, with some actors portraying multiple characters. Opportunities are available for performers ages 10 and older, making this an exciting production for both youth and adults.
Journey through the wardrobe into the enchanting land of Narnia, where four siblings discover a world locked in an endless winter under the rule of the White Witch. Guided by the noble lion Aslan, they embark on an unforgettable adventure filled with bravery, sacrifice, hope, and redemption. Joseph Robinette’s faithful stage adaptation captures the wonder and heart of C.S. Lewis’ classic story, celebrating the triumph of good over evil and the enduring power of love, faith, and courage.
“Whether you’re stepping onto the stage for the very first time or you’re a seasoned performer, this production offers a place for everyone,” said Theatre Coordinator Martha Wilkinson. “Narnia has inspired generations of audiences, and we’re excited to bring this timeless story to life with a cast drawn from our own community.”
Performers interested in auditioning are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork. Rehearsal schedules and production information will be provided at auditions.
