While Prattville children are out of school for Spring Break, the City of Prattville will take that opportunity to do some much needed work to the sewer line on Washington Street.
The Wastewater Department has hired a local contractor to repair and replace old, broken segments of the sewer line from the intersection of Wetumpka and Washington Streets to the north end of Washington. Wastewater crews have been cleaning this segment of line weekly to prevent issues at the houses at that end of the street. It is expected to take 3-5 days. We recommend that commuters choose an alternate route during this time in order to prevent delays.
This project will cost the City of Prattville $28,000 and will be deducted from the Wastewater Enterprise Fund Street & Sewer budget line item.
"This is another project that is being funded from the enterprise fund account without taking out a loan," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr.
