Urban Management Takes Delivery on New Tractor

July 1, 2014

On June 13th, Urban Management took delivery on a new tractor. Given the amount of territory Urban Management maintains and through evaluation of their tools and manpower, it was determined that they needed to add another tractor and flex wing rotary mower. This John Deere tractor pulls a 15' flex wing rotary mower (bush hog).

"We purchased this tractor with a future goal of converting it into a side arm mower, in roughly 5 years," said Urban Management Division Manager Deven Peek. "At that point, the side arm should be ready for replacement."

This John Deere 5115m tractor cost the department $51,912.75. The bush hog was delivered on June 20th and cost the department an additional $16,427.62. The tractor was purchased from Snead AG off of state contract and the bush hog was let to bid and awarded to Sunsouth. Both these tools were budgeted and paid for in cash; no financing was necessary.
