Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theatre is pleased to announce its production of The Sound of Music, directed by James Keith Posey and opening July 7.

Auditions for The Sound of Music will be held Saturday, April 23, at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Building at 203 West 4th Street. Actors do not need to attend both days. If callbacks are necessary, they will be held on Tuesday, April 26, at 6:00 p.m.

There will be opportunities for 14 adult female and male roles, eight children, and an ensemble cast of up to ten members.

The Sound of Music is one of the most beloved musicals of all time with an iconic score written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, II, about an exuberant young governess who brings music and joy back to a broken family. The book was written by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, suggested by The Trapp Family Singers by Maria Augusta Trapp. The play is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rogers & Hammerstein Organization,
