Prattauga Art Guild Hosts Art With A Heart Soup Event Fundraiser for the Autauga Interfaith Care Center Food Bank

Get ready to warm your body and your soul with a bowl of hot soup at the Prattauga Art Guild’s annual “Art With A Heart” soup event fundraiser for the Autauga Interfaith Care Center food bank. There’s nothing better than a cup of hot soup in the winter—except a cup of hot soup and a handmade bowl created by a local artist—and all proceeds from this event go to a great cause.

The Prattauga Art Guild is planning its annual Art with a Heart event for Saturday, February 19. This tasty event will feature a Soup Cook-Off with teams and individuals competing for awards while raising money to help with the needs of our community. Local artists have donated handcrafted bowls and local restaurants will be donating soup for the event.

Come out and taste the homemade soups from our competing teams and help select the People’s Choice Award. The soup teams also will compete for the Golden Bowl and Silver Ladle awards and a chance for bragging rights for 2022.

A donation of $10 or more will get you a cup of soup from one of our local participating restaurants and a handcrafted bowl by one of our many talented artists. All proceeds from the event go to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center food bank to help to refill their shelves after the recent holidays. Now, more than ever, there is a need to help to take care of our community and this event will help the AICC to be able to do that.

The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Prattville Creative Arts Center. Admission to the event is free, but we ask that you donate a non-perishable food item for the AICC food bank.

While you are tasting soups, you can enjoy an exhibit of artwork by local artists, representing a variety of artistic styles. There are original paintings, clay pieces, photography and more that will be on display, some are available for sale.

The Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery is located at 342 South Chestnut Street in historic Downtown Prattville and is a short walk from a variety of shops and the beautiful Autauga Creek Walk and gardens. For more information about the fundraiser and the Soup Cook-Off and how you can participate, contact the Special Events Office at 334/595-0850 or visit the website at artguild.prattvilleal.gov.
