At the second City Council meeting each month, Interim Finance Director Doug Moseley delivers a written and verbal recount of the City's financial status. These are the preliminary revenue figures for December, 2011.

There was a 30.94% increase in gross tax receipts totalling $432,370.77. Excluding the limited duration sales tax increase collected, there was a 2.24% decrease in gross tax receipts totalling $31,233.12.
There was a 32.04% increase in net taxes of $423,713.02. Without the sales tax increase, we reflect a 2.09% decrease in net taxes of $27,677.45.
The account that saw the greatest decrease was General Sales Tax (-43,289.88).
This month, the sales tax increase generated an additional $463,603.89. Thus far, the sales tax increase has generated an additional $3,165,892.87 and in that same time period, the City of Prattville has paid $3,699,984.69 toward our debt service. A Debt Service Reserve account has been established and is being funded with the proceeds from the sales tax increase.
