Alabama First Lady Makes Appearance in Downtown Prattville

November 17, 2008

Alabama First Lady Patsy Riley was at Victoria’s Boutique in Downtown Prattville on November 17 to sign her latest cookbook “When the Dinner Bell Rings at the Governor’s Mansion.”

First Lady Patsy Riley was very gracious as she signed cookbooks and chatted with those who waited in line to see her.

This latest book is comprised of her recipes, those of family and friends, as well as every other first lady in America along with two U.S. territories. She also gathered recipes from former Alabama governors and a few Presidents’ wives.

Riley said that she had no idea the books would sell as they have. 3,000 copies were ordered and they have sold out. Another printing has been ordered and will hopefully arrive prior to Christmas.

The proceeds from the book will be used for the renovation and upkeep of Hill House next door to the Governor’s mansion.
