Join us for the 3rd Annual Parade of Pumpkins in Historic Downtown Prattville October 22nd – October 31st. The City of Prattville will feature carved and decorated pumpkins from our community along with festive storefronts, seasonal displays, and the new GLOW trail that will light up and transform Historic Downtown Prattville. This family-friendly event is free and open for everyone to participate. Grab a pumpkin, get in the spirit, and share your creativity at the Parade of Pumpkins!

To participate:

  1. Carve, decorate, or paint your pumpkin.
  2. Bring your pumpkin to Historic Downtown Prattville.
  3. Place it on display along the parade or leave in a designated Pumpkin Drop-off area. Pumpkin Drop-off begins October 20th.
  4. The City has lights set for your pumpkin each night. (Candles are prohibited.)
  5. Enter your pumpkin in the “Best Pumpkin” of Parade of Pumpkins Contest for a chance to win $100 in cash and more!

One of the best features during the Parade of Pumpkins is the festive downtown merchant storefronts. Each participating location will be featured in a "Best Storefront Contest" on the City of Prattville's Facebook page, and voting will begin October 25th. While you enjoy the pumpkins, displays, and creativity, please make sure you select which Downtown Merchant storefront is your favorite by voting on the City of Prattville Facebook.

The Prattauga Art Guild is hosting a FREE Pumpkin Decorating Class for kids of all ages on Thursday, October 21st. This come-and-go pumpkin painting activity is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. (while supplies last) outside at the Prattville Creative Arts Center (342 S. Chestnut). Pumpkins and art supplies will be provided. All decorated pumpkins will be displayed in Historic Downtown Prattville thru October 31st. We can't wait to see all the creative pumpkins!

The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the City of Prattville to host “Artists on Main” during the Parade of Pumpkins on October 26th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This event will feature pumpkin art, music, and more.

During the Parade of Pumpkins, we are partnering with AICC to host a food drive. Drop-off locations for non-perishable items and toiletries are inside the front entrance of City Hall.

We want to thank Randy Jones & Associates, your local insurance agency in Prattville, for sponsoring the pumpkins for the Parade of Pumpkins and the free pumpkin decorating class. Stay up to date on these events and more by following the City of Prattville's website,, and social media accounts.
