The amount shown is only to provide general financial information to contractors and bonding companies concerning the project’s complexity and size. This amount should not be used in preparing a bid\, nor will it have any bearing on the decision to award the contract. \nThe principal items of work are approximate as follows:\n530A-002 24” ROADWAY PIPE (CLASS 3 R.C.) 468 LINEAR FEET\n618A-000 CONCRETE SIDEWALK\, 4” THICK 925 SQUARE YARD\n621C-030 INLETS\, TYPE “SPECIAL” 3 EACH\n623C-003 COMBINATION CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER\, TYPE C (MODIFIED) 1\,033 LINEAR FEET\n703A-002 TRAFFIC CONTROL MARKINGS\, CLASS 2\, TYPE A 1\,263 SQUARE FEET \nThe entire project shall be completed within seventy-five (75) working days from the Notice to Proceed issuance date.\nTo be eligible for consideration\, bids must be submitted on complete original proposals. Drawings\, Plans\, Specifications\, Addenda and other associated documents are available at the office of Krebs Engineering\, Montgomery Office\, located at 312 Catoma Street\, Suite 100\, Montgomery\, AL 36104\, Prattville Engineering Department\, or online through www.questcdn.com\, keyword 9904646. \nNo bid documents will be distributed later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled opening of bids. \nA certified check (drawn on an Alabama Bank) or Bid Bond payable to the City of Prattville\, Alabama in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid\, but in no event more than $10\,000.00 must accompany each of the bidder’s separate sealed proposal. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14) days after notice of award of Contract to them. The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance bond and a 50% payment bond. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety. Contractors are required to apply for all permits (City of Prattville local permit fees will be waived). The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least thirty percent (30%) of the total contract costs with his own organization. \nEach bidder must be licensed as a Contractor in the State of Alabama in accordance with provisions of Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama\, 1975\, as amended\, and must submit with this bid satisfactory evidence of such license. Contractor prequalification is not required to bid on the project; however\, the award of the contract will not be made to any bidder who\, at the time of the award\, is considered by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) to be disqualified from bidding\, nor to any bidder who is an affiliate of or has a corporate officer\, director or principal owner who is a cooperate officer director\, or owner of\, another person who is presently disqualified by ALDOT. Further details and definitions regarding this provision are included in the project specifications. \nIn order to comply with the requirements of the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act\, Act No. 2011-535\, and Act 2012-491\, bidders must comply with Section 31-13-9\, Code of Alabama\, 1975\, as amended. \nThis is a federally funded project. The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act and other Acts amendatory\, supplementary\, or relative thereto. This project is subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations. \nThe right to reject any or all proposals or bids and to disregard any minor irregularities is reserved. CST in the Auditorium at the Doster Community Center\, 424 South Northington Street\, Prattville\, AL 36067. \nA summary of the work items is included below: \nImprovement of existing basketball facilities\, retaining walls\, access features\, rigid structure for full court cover\, fencing\, and site grading/landscaping at North Highland Park in Prattville\, Alabama. \nThe work of constructing the project will be let under one Contract if an award should be made; and the Owner reserves the right to select the Bid considered by the Owner to be in the best interest of the Owner. \nTo be eligible for consideration\, bids must be submitted on complete original proposal forms made available by the Engineer. Bid documents (including plans and proposals) are available through the Quest Construction Data Network at www.questcdn.com utilizing the Reference Quest Number 9882445 for a fee of $22.00. \nFor the duration of the advertisement period\, a list of plan holders may be found at www.krebseng.com or at www.questcdn.com. \nA certified check or Bid Bond payable to the City of Prattville\, Alabama\, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid\, but in no event more than $10\,000.00\, must accompany each of the bidder’s separate sealed proposal. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14) days after notice of award of Contract to them. The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance bond and a 50% payment bond. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety. Contractors are required to apply for all permits (City of Prattville local permit fees will be waived). \nEach bidder must be licensed as a Contractor in the State of Alabama in accordance with provisions of Chapter 8 of Title 34 of the Code of Alabama\, 1975\, as amended\, and must submit with this bid satisfactory evidence of such license. \nThe City of Prattville is an equal opportunity employer.
