WOBT Announces Auditions for Deathtrap

Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theatre is pleased to announce its production of Ira Levin’s Deathtrap, Broadway’s longest running comedy thriller. The production will be directed by Matthew Givens, who previously directed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare and Cooking With Gus at WOBT.

Auditions for Deathtrap will be held Sunday, July 23, and Monday, July 24, from 7-9 p.m. at the Prattville Cultural Arts Center at 203 West 4th Street in Prattville, Alabama 36067. You need to attend only one audition session to be considered for a role. Call backs will be held at a later date, if necessary.

There are parts for three men and two women for this production of Deathtrap. Actors can be younger or older than the ages listed for each character, but must be able to play the approximate age listed, especially in relation to the other actors cast. Parts being cast are:

Sidney Bruhl – 40’s or older, flexible
Myra Bruhl – Any age or look, flexible
Clifford Anderson – Younger male, fit, college or grad school age
Helga ten Dorp – Any age, preferably older than Myra and have or can learn Swedish accent, flexible
Porter Milgrim – Older male, preferably Sidney’s age or older, flexible

Auditions are open to anyone interested and no prepared pieces are required. You will be asked to do cold readings from the script. Acting resumes and pictures are appreciated, but not necessary. Please bring with you all available information as far as scheduling conflicts from July through September.
