The City of Prattville announced today that it will hold its Annual Christmas Parade on Monday, December 1, at 7 o'clock in the evening. "A Christmas Carol" will be the theme and participants will choose their favorite Christmas songs as inspiration for decorating their entries.

The parade will begin at the Autauga County Courthouse at the corner of 4th and Court Streets and will meander through historic downtown Prattville and back around to the Courthouse. Lots of candy will be tossed to onlookers as the floats, antique cars, dance groups, horses and others take part in this much anticipated annual event. Prattville High School and Marbury High School bands will be stepping high and entertaining the crowds with holiday music. Families from all across the River Region will want to take part in this wonderful family-friendly event. (View our parade route map.pdf)

"We will hold the Christmas Tree Lighting events with a visit from Santa at Heritage Park near the Fountain the week before the Parade," said Barbara Simpson of the Special Events office. The Tree Lighting will be held on Tuesday, November 25, with festivities beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Prattville Pops and local dance groups will perform and we will flip the switch to light the official Christmas Tree. Then children will visit with Santa and give him their wish lists as the Prattville Community Chorus sings Christmas Carols for the crowd.
