Artists will converge on Prattville on Friday, March 31, to paint the many beautiful and historic sites Downtown. The City of Prattville is pleased to host a Plein Air Painting Event on Friday, March 31, as part of the Fountain City Arts Festival month-long celebration of the arts. This “paint out” will feature plein air painters from throughout the River Region, including well-known artist Perry Austin. Plein air is derived from the French term for painting outside, and Prattville is the perfect setting for painting outside.

Some of the works created at this paint-out event will be on display and for sale at the Fountain City Arts Festival the next day, Saturday, April 1, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This wet paint sale will be the first of its kind at the festival and we are excited to have these artists participating in this two-day art event.

Jennifer Levins, an award-winning Prattville artist, is coordinating this event, along with the Cultural Arts and Special Events office. Jennifer is a member of the Prattauga Art Guild and a member of the Alabama Plein Air Artists. She is often seen around Prattville painting Autauga Creek, the Downtown shops, and other sites. Her work is included in corporate and private collections throughout Alabama.
