The City of Prattville is proud to be hosting its 2020 Honoree Dinner on Saturday, March 7, in honor of Jackson Bostwick. Jackson Bostwick is an actor and former

educator of theatre best known for his Honoree Dinner Poster role as Captain Marvel in the 70’s television show Shazam! A graduate of Lanier High School in Montgomery, Jackson studied pre-med at the University of Alabama before deciding on a career in acting. He earned a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California where he studied under Lurene Tuttle. He later returned to Alabama to teach theatre at Auburn University at Montgomery in the 90’s. In more recent years, Mr. Bostwick has written and directed films of his own, and appears at comic conventions around the nation.

Since 2006, the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council has honored many people, including internationally-known artist Charlie “Tin Man” Lucas; Wilson Pickett, musician and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee; The Swampers of the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio; the Artist Nall; author Daniel Wallace who wrote Big Fish; Dr. Tonea Stewart, actress and educator; Geoffrey Sherman, Alabama Shakespeare Festival; Braxton Schuffert, singer/songwriter and original member of Hank Williams’ Band; The Alabama Blues Project and its founder, Debbie Bond, singer/songwriter and blues musician; Jack Warner, art collector and founder of the Westervelt Warner Museum in Tuscaloosa; crime fiction writer Ace Atkins; and patron of the arts and philanthropist Janice Hawkins.

This celebratory event will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Doster Center. Festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception and silent auction benefiting the Friends of the Arts fund. Local businesses, organizations and individuals donate wonderful items, such as wine, crystal, gift certificates, furniture, jewelry, artwork and more to help raise funds for a future cultural arts facility. A gourmet dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. and will include an entertaining program in honor of Mr. Bostwick.

Tickets are $50 each and include a champagne reception, silent auction, delicious dinner, and a fun and entertaining program.
