The City of Prattville will let the good times roll on Saturday, February 16, with its 15thAnnual Mardi Gras Celebration!

Grand Marshals for this year’s Parade will be the Autauga Creek Improvement Committee.  These dedicated volunteers have worked hard to make Autauga Creek and the Canoe Trail a favorite place to enjoy not only for our community, but also for people from throughout the nation.  Their mission since inception in 2011 has been to provide a natural, scenic, and educational recreation experience and to keep the Creek clean and floatable! This year-round effort takes a lot of time and dedication by the committee and its many volunteers and we are pleased to recognize them for their selfless commitment to Prattville and Autauga Creek.

The Mardi Gras Celebration will begin with the Skills USA Prattville/Autauga Auto Show benefitting the Autauga County Technical School.  Vehicles from several categories will be on display from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with awards given in each category.  The auto show will be located on the grounds of the Public Safety building and on-site registration will start at 8:00 a.m.

There will be food vendors, arts, crafts, commercial and specialty vendors at 11:00 a.m. at the Partners In Pediatrics parking lot on Main Street and more vendors and children’s inflatables at the grassy field at Third and Court Streets.  Enjoy food, shopping, and children’s activities from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

To complete a really fun day, be ready when the Mardi Gras Parade rolls out with plenty of Moon Pies and beads for everyone! The parade will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Autauga County Courthouse at the intersection of 4thand Court Streets and will follow Main Street through Downtown, take a right on Northington, then left on Doster, ending at Stanley Jensen Football Stadium.

The Prattville Mardi Gras Celebration is a family-friendly event that you don’t want to miss!
