The City of Prattville’s ReLeaf 2009 re-greening project begins this Saturday (February 21, 2009) with the State Arbor Day Celebration and Ceremonial Tree Planting. Over 300 volunteers are expected to participate in ReLeaf, an initiative to plant trees in the yards of homes damaged during last year’s tornado. The event is spearheaded by Beverly Byard and Prattville’s three garden clubs, along with the Autauga Master Gardeners. “I invite residents of these neighborhoods and all of our citizens to participate in this very special Arbor Day Celebration – our city’s largest tree event ever,” said Prattville Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. For more information, please visit our website
