Prattville Lowers Flags to Honor Army Specialist Nick Hensley

As a mark of respect and to honor the life and memory of Army Specialist Nick Hensley, flags at all City facilities will be flown at half-staff until sundown July 6, 2011 , the evening of his funeral in Universal City, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Gloria Hensley; parents Terry and Joan Hensley; children, Nora, Ella, and Anna Hensley; sister, Michaela Hensley; nephew Landon Hensley; and his parents-in-law, Nicholas and Susan Mills. He is a 2001 graduate of Prattville High School.

"Specialist Hensley died honorably in Kandahar, Afghanistan defending our country," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. He died of injuries sustained by enemy forces using an improvised explosive device. "The citizens of the City of Prattville join me in remembering the contributions of this great American. We extend our prayers and sympathies to the Hensley and Mills families," continued the Mayor.
