The Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery are pleased to present an exhibition by artists Onicas Gaddis and Lauren Wade.

Onicas Gaddis is a Rockford native, currently living and working in the Daytona area. As a product of the Foster Care system, Gaddis takes you on an emotional ride through his experiences, thoughts and dreams through his artwork and writings. As an artist, he allows the color and the paint to lead him on a journey of creation and storytelling. He is fortunate to have had the chance to paint with and to be nurtured as an artist by the late Sarah Carlisle Towery, internationally recognized artist from Alexander City. His unique style is bold and cries out with emotion, but Onicas remains humble and soft spoken. The works are just a few of the works included in his new book to be released soon titled Who Am I?

Lauren Wade, freelance photographer from Atlanta, received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and is the granddaughter of Sarah Carlisle Towery. Her work titled Ð r i f t is a look at the Foster Care System and documents and conveys the stories of former Foster youth. Wade's photographs capture the emotion of the lives spent in Foster Care and the hope these young adults have for the future. D r i f t has been exhibited various places in Georgia, including the lobby of the Bank of America building in Atlanta. Miss Wade specializes in travel and fine art photography with a social focus. Proceeds from the sale of these photographs go to Gift for a Child charitable organization.

The exhibit is open now through March 21. There will be a reception with a chance to meet and talk to Lauren Wade on Saturday, February 28, from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Gallery at the Prattville Creative Arts Center at 342 Chestnut Street in Historic Downtown Prattville. There will be a closing reception with artist Onicas Gaddis on Saturday, March 21, at the Gallery from 5-7:00 p.m. For more information about this and other exhibits and events at the Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery, call the Special Events Office at 334/595-0854.
