In honor and remembrance of our fellow Americans who lost their lives on this tragic day in American history, Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. has directed that flags at all city facilities be lowered to half-staff on Monday, September 11, 2017.

As an additional mark of respect, City personnel will join Woodmen of the World Chapter 298 and local elected officials for an “In Honor and Remembrance” ceremony at Prattville Fire Station 3, which is located at 1904 Briarwood Street. The ceremony will commence at 7:46 a.m. in acknowledgement of the moment the first plane hit the first tower on that fateful day.

“I encourage all Partners of Prattville to join us at Fire Station 3 for this ceremony,” said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. “It is important that we collectively remember this day and pay tribute to our American heroes who lost their lives. May we never forget.”
