MAYOR ASKS CITIZENS TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE 217th
MILITARY POLICE COMPANY AS THEY LEAVE FOR IRAQ

Prattville Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. has asked citizens to join him tomorrow morning to support the soldiers of the 217th Military Police Company as they depart for a year’s service in Iraq. “The men and women of the 217th will be away from family, friends, their houses and their full-time jobs, helping keep the peace during this critical time in Iraq,” said Mayor Byard. “While there is no formal agenda, I believe that it would be great for
these departing soldiers to see the route lined with citizens, waving flags, or just waving in support of them and their families,” continued the Mayor.
