The City of Prattville is excited to welcome Grayson Russell to the Prattville Carmike Cinema for the premiere of “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, on Friday, March 19th. Russell will join family, friends and fans at 6pm to sign autographs before the evening showing of the movie.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” is a family comedy based on the first book in author Jeff Kinney’s best-selling series. It chronicles the adventures of wise-cracking middle school student, Greg Heffley. Russell plays Fregley, Greg’s hyper, weird classmate.

Russell made his film debut in “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.” He has a leading role in the independent film, “The Rainbow Tribe,” and has recently starred in an episode of a new Disney series, “I’m In the Band.” Locally, he starred in various McKinnon Motors commercials that ended with his tagline “You’ll be grinnin’ when you buy from McKinnon.”

“We are extremely excited that Grayson chose Prattville to attend his movie premiere,” said Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. “We hope everyone comes out to the Prattville Carmike Cinema to meet him and watch the movie,” he continued.
