Art springs to life at the 12th Annual Fountain City Arts Festival on Saturday, April 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pratt Park in Downtown Prattville, Alabama. This fine arts festival features an Artists Village with a variety of hand crafted and custom designed items including fine art paintings, woodcarvings, photography, clay sculpture, handmade soap, and much more. Alabama Plein Air Artists will have a “wet paint” sale of paintings created the day before of sites around Prattville.

A Writers Village will feature local and regional writers with books for children, books for adults, books of photography, and everything in between. Many of these writers also will be available to talk with you about their books and autograph them for you.

A Traditional Crafts area will feature demonstrations of basket weaving, clay sculpture, gemstone polishing, fiber arts, and more.

Children will be excited to create free, hands-on art projects in the Creative Canopy, both collaboratively and individually, with artist Charlie Lucas, photographer Keith Farrar, and members of the Prattauga Art Guild.

You don’t want to miss the sounds of Bama Breeze and Gypsy Cornbread on the entertainment stage, along with interactive children’s entertainer Sir Crazy Pants. There will be performances by the Prattville Pops, Community Chorus, and the Way Off Broadway Theatre, as well.

Make a day of it and grab something to eat in the food vendor area and have a picnic by the pond after the kids have had their fun on the inflatables (armbands available for purchase) or the playground (free).

Admission to the Festival is FREE and this event is open to the public.

The Fountain City Arts Festival is sponsored by the City of Prattville and has been made possible, in part, by grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Prattville Service League.
