As a mark of respect, and to honor our fellow American citizens that lost their lives in the ruthless terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Prattville Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. has ordered flags at all City Facilities to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

To further mark the significance of the day, City officials and Prattville first responders will join the Woodmen of the World, Lodge 298 for a brief moment of silence and ceremony at Prattville Fire Station 3, 1904 Briarwood Street, at 7:48 a.m. Saturday morning.

“I urge all of the citizens of Prattville to join me by displaying flags, offering prayers, engaging in service, good deeds, and charitable acts to remember not only those who died, but also the heroes of September 11, 2001,” said Mayor Byard. “This observance also allows us to pay tribute to the brave men and women who protect our City each and every day,” continued the Mayor.

Flags will return to full-staff on Sunday.
