This year marked the third annual America is Your Park campaign in which communities rallied to get votes for their park to win a $100,000 grant and the honor of being named "America's Favorite Park."

The America is Your Park grant contest ended on July 15th at 11:59:59 p.m. After the voting ended, Coca-Cola conducted a third party audit of the votes to ensure that no rules were violated and all votes were valid. That audit has concluded and today, Coca-Cola made it official via Twitter: Pratt Park is America's Favorite Park for 2012!

"When we took on this challenge, we promised the people of Prattville that we would use the grant funds to install a splash pad in Pratt Park," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. "Our residents contacted their families and friends all over the country. We had an outpouring of support like nothing we had ever experienced. We thank Coca-Cola wholeheartedly for the opportunity they provided our community with this contest. While winning the grant was our goal, the most valuable reward was the way our community came together, worked hard together, and the feeling of pride and ownership that resulted from our efforts."

The spirit of the contest was to get people out to the park. Prattville went all out to hold event after event in Pratt Park. Team Pratt Park coordinated flash mob voting and check-ins using laptops and mobile devices via and foursquare.

The check presentation ceremony will be held at Pratt Park with officials from Coca-Cola on September 24th at 10 a.m. We invite everyone who cast even one vote to join us for this momentous occasion.
