City to Hold Summer Theatre & Art Camps

The Prattville Cultural Arts and Special Events office is excited to announce our Summer Youth Camps. We will have both Theatre and Art Camps for children grades 1-12 scheduled in June and July with lots of fun activities.

The Way Off Broadway Theatre will have both junior and senior theatre camps conducted by director Zyna Captain. The Junior Theatre Camp will be held Monday through Friday, June 5-9, with performances held on Saturday, June 10. This camp is for children in grades K-6 and will teach them all about the theatre, both on and off stage, and will help build confidence and teamwork.

The Senior Theatre Camp is for youth in grades 7-12 and will be held Monday through Friday, June 9-23, with performances on Saturday, June 24. This advanced camp will delve deeper into the world of theatre including not only performing, but also costuming, set design, production and will help to build self-confidence, public speaking, and team building.

Prattauga Art Guild will hold two Summer Art Camps for students ages 7-12 with instructor Peggy Raines. The first camp will be held June 12-17 and the second July 10-15. The camp classes will be held Monday through Friday and a reception and exhibit of works created will be held on Saturday. The camps will be feature a variety of projects such as painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and more.

Cost for each of these camps is just $75 for the week and includes all supplies! Space in each camp is limited and reservations are required. For more information or to make your reservations, contact the Special Events Office at 334-595-0854.
