Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets and blankets and get ready for the City of Prattville’s Movie under the Stars! This year’s featured movie “Planet 51” will be shown on a 30 ft. inflatable movie screen at the Cooters Pond Park in Prattville, on Friday, March 26th. The movie will begin at dark. Admission is free to the public. Ria’s Pizzaria will be onsite selling $5 large pizzas. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Planet 51 is an animated comedy featuring the voices of Dwayne Johnson, Jessica Biel, and Gary Oldman. Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker (Johnson) is an American astronaut on a mission to boldly go where no man had gone before, a remote celestial body dubbed Planet 51. He believes the planet is uninhabited, only to discover a race of tiny green people living in quaint communities reminiscent of 1950s America. Captain Baker must count on his robot companion, "Rover," and his new friend, Lem, in order to navigate this strange new world and find a way back home before it's too late.

This will be the second year the event will be held at Cooters Pond Park. “We have had great success with our free movie series in that location. It is a great, open area and the grounds make a natural theatre seating effect”, said Kellie Cook, Special Events Director for the City of Prattville.

The movie will be held in conjunction with the City of Prattville’s 5th annual Fountain City Arts Festival, which takes place in Pratt Park on Saturday, March 27th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Over 40 regional artists are slated to participate, including Yvonne Wells, Russell Everett, Kasey Hope, Nancy Raia, and Charlie Lucas. Live entertainment will include The John Bull Band, Lisa and the Elusions, The Prattville Pops, The Prattville Community Chorus, Miss Fountain City-Jessica Brookshire, and local favorite 7-0-8-0.

The Fountain City Arts Festival is sponsored by The City of Prattville, Target Corporation, The Prattville Council for the Creative & Performing Arts and The Prattauga Art Guild. For more information, please call (334) 358-0297.
