As President Trump has issued a National State of Emergency, the City of Prattville will be postponing all City of Prattville Parks and Recreation classes, sporting activities (practices and games), and cultural arts programs until further notice. The City of Prattville is in pro-active ready mode, and we are working closely with Prattville Baptist Hospital officials, the Autauga County Commission, Elmore County Commission, EMA, the Autauga and Elmore County Board of Education Superintendents, and neighboring city and county elected officials. We are actively communicating with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, Autauga Prattville Public Library, Prattville YMCA, and other entities as information is released. Upcoming public meetings may have some restrictions, but at this time, we will proceed with regularly scheduled meetings.

"I have been discussing Coronavirus (COVID-19) with our Fire Chief and Police Chief for several weeks now, and we have our plan of action in place for our Public Safety Team and City personnel. I want to be clear in saying that the City of Prattville is open for business, but we are following the CDC and Alabama Department of Public Health recommendations. I am working with our department heads to continue exercising the necessary precautionary measures for the city day to day operations. As more information comes forth with COVID-19 and City operations, we will keep the citizens of Prattville informed, and you can always call me at (334) 391-3948," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr.
