City of Prattville Announces Theme for 4th of July Parade

The City of Prattville has announced that this year’s 4th of July Parade theme is “Salute to our Hometown Heroes”. The 4th of July parade will be held on Saturday, July 3rd since the 4th falls on Sunday. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Autauga County Courthouse and will end at Stanley-Jensen Stadium. Float participants are encouraged to decorate their entries in this year’s theme. Children on bikes, tricycles and scooters are also invited to participate in this family-fun parade. Entry forms for the parade are due by June 25th at 5:00 p.m. and can be picked up at the Cultural Arts Center or by visiting the event page. There is no registration fee to enter floats in the parade.

Other events included in the weekend festivities will be the annual “Cardboard Boat Races”, sponsored by the Department of Leisure Services, at the city pool, and the “Annual Lion’s Club Bar-B-Q and Camp Stew Sale,” held at Pratt Park at 10:00 a.m. Live entertainment and vendors will also be featured. These events will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. The annual fireworks will be held on Sunday, July 4th and being at dark. The admission to this spectacular event is FREE and the public is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. NO pets will be allowed on the field.
