City Honors Law Enforcement at 4th of July Celebration

The City of Prattville has announced that this year’s 4th of July Parade theme is “Salute to Law Enforcement Personnel.” In appreciation for their service, the Prattville Independence Day Celebration Committee is honoring all current and retired Autauga County and City of Prattville law enforcement employees as Grand Marshals at the Independence Day Parade and Fireworks Event, on Monday, July 4th. Karl Wade, retired State Trooper, will serve as the special honoree. All Veterans wishing to take part in the Prattville Independence Day events need to make reservations by June 20, 2016. Please contact the City of Prattville Special Events Office at (334) 595-0851 to RSVP.

The 4th of July parade will be held on Monday, July 4th. The parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Autauga County Courthouse and will end at Stanley-Jensen Stadium. The community is encouraged to participate in this free parade.

Other events included will be the annual “Cardboard Boat Races”, sponsored by the Parks and Rec Department, at Pratt Pool, and the “Lion’s Club Bar-B-Q and Camp Stew Sale,” held at Pratt Park at 10:00 a.m. The annual fireworks presentation will be held at Stanley-Jensen Stadium. Gates open at 6pm with a concert by the band “Creativity.” Fireworks begin at dark. The admission to this spectacular event is FREE and the public is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. NO pets or bottles are allowed.
