April 2, 2013

On Saturday, April 6th at 11 a.m., City officials will break ground on the splash pad in Pratt Park behind the pool.

The City of Prattville ran a poll on Facebook to let the public decide one of the features to be included on the splash pad. Voters were given 5 choices. The results are as follows:

  • Crocodile Steve, 365 votes
  • Jeremiah Bullfrog, 199 votes
  • Snappy Turtle, 102 votes
  • Mr. Tartar, 74 votes
  • Bumblebee, 65 votes

Crocodile Steve will be the special feature placed on the splash pad in America's Favorite Park.

"The Summer of 2012 will always be remembered as the summer of America's Favorite Park in Prattville, Alabama," said Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. "I'd like to personally invite everyone to come to this groundbreaking because so many of us voted around the clock and without that dedication, Pratt Park would not have been rewarded with that designation."
