Mayor Bill Gillespie, the City of Prattville, and the merchants and business owners of Prattville Downtown Unlimited (PDU) will hold the Annual Candy Walk in Downtown Prattville. on Thursday, October 30, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

This free event is for toddlers through second graders and gives them a chance to have a fun and safe time trick-or-treating and to show off their costumes. "I believe the firemen, policemen and other City employees who help with this have as much fun as the children. Some of us dress up and the children seem to really love it and we enjoy seeing all the superheroes, princesses, fairies and other characters that come out," said Special Events Coordinator, Barbara Simpson.

Lineup for the Candy Walk will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Prattville City Hall and continue through the shops of Downtown, with many of the businesses participating in the event. Children are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Autauga Interfaith Care Center (AICC). AICC bins will be located at City Hall.

For more information about this event, please call the Special Events office at 334/595-0854.

Additionally, Halloween will be observed on Friday, October 31, with recommended hours of trick-or-treating between 5:00-8:00 p.m.
