City to Observe Arbor Day on February 23rd

The City of Prattville will observe Arbor Day on Monday, February 23rd at Upper Kingston Park, located at 1309 Upper Kingston Road, from 9-11 a.m.

Mayor Gillespie will read and then present the Arbor Day Proclamation to the Autauga County Master Gardeners Association. The Alabama Forestry Commission will provide seedlings for distribution to the public. Members of the Autauga County Master Gardeners Association will distribute the trees. Available species include: Bald Cypress, Cherrybark Oak, Nuttall Oak, Blackgum, Crepe Myrtle, Shumard Oak and Loblolly Pine.

The Autauga County Master Gardeners will be conducting a special tree seminar at 10 a.m.

This year's observance will also include a tree planting in the park. We look forward to this event and hope that you will all join us for the ceremony and also to collect some free trees to plant yourself!
