Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr., the City of Prattville, and the merchants and business owners of Prattville Downtown Unlimited (PDU) will hold the Annual Halloween Candy Walk in Downtown Prattville on Thursday, October 27, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

This free event is for toddlers through second graders and gives them a chance to have a fun and safe time trick-or-treating and to show off their costumes. Little fairies, princesses, super heroes, ghosts, goblins, and other characters will come out to trick-or-treat at City Hall and with the local merchants who open their doors for the little ones.

Lineup will begin at 3:30 p.m. and this year we plan to have two starting points for the lines to begin. We will have our usual starting point in front of City Hall and to relieve the congestion and long waiting times, we will have a second starting point at the end of Main Street at Heritage Park. Each of the lines will continue through the shops of Downtown, with many of the businesses participating.

This event also helps to stock the pantry at the Autauga Interfaith Care Center (AICC) food bank, with children being asked to bring non-perishable food items for donation. AICC bins will be located at the beginning of each line.

Halloween will be observed on Monday, October 31, with recommended hours of trick-or-treating between 5:30-8:30 p.m. For more information about this event, please call the Special Events office at 334/595-0854.
