A Great Gatsby Evening Honoring Geoffrey Sherman of ASF

On Saturday, March 15, the City of Prattville will host A Great Gatsby Evening, a grand gala celebrating the brilliant career of Geoffrey Sherman, Producing Artistic Director of Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and his remarkable contribution to the arts in Alabama.

This multitalented, British born, director and actor has worked in more than forty theatres on both sides of the Atlantic, garnering numerous prestigious awards, and the Prattville Arts Council is recognizing him for his work here in Alabama and the River Region as well.

Each year, the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council honors a person or group who has made a significant contribution to the arts in Alabama. Past honorees have included Charlie "Tin Man" Lucas, internationally-known artist; Wilson Pickett, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee; author Daniel Wallace who wrote Big Fish; and Dr. Tonea Stewart, actress and educator of Alabama State University, among others.

The event will be held at the Marriott Legends at Capitol Hill in Prattville on Saturday, March 15, with festivities beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $45 and include the reception and silent auction, gourmet dinner, and an exciting and entertaining program.
