For the 4th year, the City of Prattville is joining Nickelodeon, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition, and the National Park Foundation in celebrating the Worldwide Day of Play event.

Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. has issued a proclamation recognizing September 20, 2014 as the Worldwide Day of Play in Prattville, Alabama. In addition to the proclamation, we will be holding a fun event for the children at Cooter's Pond Park.

The Parks and Recreation Department has planned an event that will take the Worldwide Day of Play to a new level in the City of Prattville! There will be obstacle endurance courses for K-2nd grade, 3rd-6th grade, and 7th-8th grade. Each course will be optimized for those age levels. Medals will be given out in different categories.

The Prattville Police and Fire Departments will be on site this year to help with bigger and better courses. The event will take place at the upper level of Cooter's Pond from 2pm-5pm. Children must be on site at 2pm for the event to begin. After the awards, everyone is invited to stay and play on our gigantic slip-n-slide.
