Holiday Schedules

UPCOMING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:

Veterans Day
City offices will be closed on November 10, 2017 in observance of Veterans Day. Sanitation schedules will be adjusted during that holiday week as follows:

Garbage:

Thursday and Friday household garbage will be collected on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Trash:

Thursday and Friday trash will be collected on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

Recycle Center:

Closed on Friday, November 10, 2017. The recycle center will be open on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Household garbage and trash will be accepted at the recycling center on Saturday, November 11, 2017.

Thanksgiving
City offices will be closed on November 23, 2017 and November 24, 2017 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. Sanitation schedules will be adjusted during that holiday week as follows:

Garbage:

Thursday and Friday household garbage will be collected on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Trash:

Monday and Tuesday trash will be collected on Monday, November 20, 2017.

Wednesday and Thursday trash will be collected on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

Friday trash will be collected on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

Recycle Center:

Closed on Friday, November 24, 2017. The recycle center will be open on Saturday, November 25, 2017.  Household garbage and trash will be accepted at the recycling center on Saturday, November 25, 2017.

The Sanitation Division observes the following major holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr./Robert E. Lee Birthday
  • Presidents' Day*
  • National Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day - open for business citywide & Sanitation runs normal routes
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday after Thanksgiving*
  • Christmas Day

*Presidents' Day can be used during the Christmas holidays depending on how it falls in the week. The City Council will address the holiday schedule at the end of each fiscal year for the upcoming year.

If a major holiday falls on a Saturday, the Sanitation Division will observe it on the preceding Friday. If the major holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday. Routes not collected due to holidays will be picked up the next business day along with the routes for that day.
